So it's been almost a year (but not quite!) I've been a little busy (understatement of the decade) but an issue that's near and dear to my heart has recently surfaced. I'm not talking about France or other countries under attack (so awful), or about the refugees coming in from Syria (again awful). This is all about this "million student march" and some of the stuff I've seen flying around on that lately.
#millionstudentmarch
I love the following: My wife, football (Raiders & Ducks), poker, Blazers, BBQ, travelling, family stuff, video games, movies, Tool, camping, outdoors, 4x4s, reading, and my wife. I like the following: Basketball, golf, new experiences, again travelling, and my wife. I loathe the following: Tim Tebow; Denver Broncos; Skip Bayless (see Tebow, Tim); San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, L.A. Lakers.

Ferguson
It's the perfect title. It's really the only thing anyone wants to talk about (or they are going out of there way to not talk about it). I've read a lot of stuff and made some comments on some things, but I kind of want to put my collected thoughts here. If you want to talk about it, let's talk about it. But let's keep it civil.

So you wanna talk about music?
I kinda stopped listening to a lot of newer music shortly after my stint in the record store came to an end, but I can read the interwebs, and occassionaly I'll hear about this new band or that one. I know you all probably hate Justin Beiber, Nickleback, and Coldplay. Maybe your disdain is for Creed, or Taylor Swift and Rebecca Black make you want to tear your own ears off and begin making a nice necklace. Well here's where you're all wrong...

Jimmy Graham loses arbitration
Jimmy Graham officially lost his arbitration hearing and is labeled a "Tight End" for franchise tag purposes. Would anyone like to wager that next CBA the players will insist on the franchise tag being set by wider positions categories rather than by their roster position?
I started this as a facebook post and it just got away from me a bit. I slept way too much and now need something to make me tired, so below is my thoughts on Jimmy Graham.

Wow I Suck!
So it's been a long while (like 6 months) since I've posted anything, mostly cause I've been way too busy, so here's a horribly long update for those who are curious....

Come on man.
So for this post, I'm totally stealing Chris Carter's "Come on man!" shtick from ESPN. The post may cause a little outrage for some, a lot for others, but the hope and intent is to air some of the grievances and toss my small opinion in to the wave of voices. I don't really know that I'll change anyone's mind, and would be open to anyone trying to change mine. If anyone feels like commenting, please keep it civil and focus on the ideas, not the individuals. If you don't want to read anything charged or bent then please skip this and enjoy this wonderful video or this one (heck I think you should watch them anyway cause puppies).

Classes & Paints
So I've had a few people asking about how classes are going and it's been awhile since my last update. I don't have a ton to say and I've got some Torts to read so I'm gonna be brief on this one :-)

Orientation
So this week was my first week @ law school. I don't have a ton to say about it cause I'm generally just really excited to get started but here goes.

School Book Scam
This is something I've noticed throughout my undergraduate tenure, and seems to also be incredibly prevalent in law school as well. There is a serious issue with both how textbooks are assigned/used, and how insanely expensive they are. Well, I've got some solutions that should make everyone (except a select few groups who are massively over-profiting from the current system). Why can't we do this?

License, Registration, and Hanging some Fans
So in the last couple days we've gotten our new driver's licenses, and spent a bucket of money on some ceiling fans. Throughout this I've noticed some things that are done a little better here, become freakishly annoyed with my credit card company, and learned that the people who create the instruction manuals for installing ceiling fans are either completely incompetent, or diabolically evil. The jury is still out on that one.

5 Years
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? It's that dreaded interview question that I always wanted to answer with "ever see 'Leaving Las Vegas', I'm thinking of going the Cage route". (For those who haven't seen it, just watch the damn movie, probably the best 'ol Nicholas Coppola has ever done). Well 5 years ago today I took the big plunge and married the most wonderful person I have ever known. This milestone kind of got me thinking, what would the me today say to the me of 5 years ago.

Buying a House and Moving Away
So as I said in my last post, I had some other things to say that probably deserved their own. Well here goes. Today it's all about buying a house and moving across country. Hopefully some of this stuff can help anyone who is thinking about doing either or both of these things for the first time.

Back
So it's been almost 18 months since I last posted. This won't happen again since I'm going to use this as a forum to communicate back to my friends and family how our most recent adventures are going. I'm not sure what the future direction of this blog will be but I hope those who read it will find it at least moderately entertaining, occasionally insightful, and maybe a little educational. For this first new post I think I'll just look at some of the major events the last 18 months have had. It's been a stressful one.

So we were treated to a couple of great, close games last week, and now we can get ready for the ProBowl, followed by another game.

Divisional Round Results - Championship game picks
So, another NFL weekend down, and we’re one step closer to
the end of another season and another champion. Both of last year’s reigning champs
have been knocked out and I’d be doing great, if only gambling were legal.

A Car, A Car, My Kingdom for a Car - and Playoff Recaps
In a previous post I spoke on the adventures of car buying, well that adventure has come to a close as I got a 2005 Ford Focus SXT. While this is definitely not what I started out looking for the mileage on the car (75k) and the price (noneya) were definitely in the right range. So I got to spend last weekend doing stuff I would much rather do, watch playoff games.

Merry Christmas
So in case you hadn't noticed, yesterday was Christmas. Since I said my next post wouldn't be a downer, this is the perfect time to give that a shot. As is the case with most, I am super happy that the season is winding down, and this one is one I'm even more grateful to see the tail end of. There was some things that were good, some that were bad and of course there were some gifts.
